Struggling to shift your used equipment?

Here are some of my top tips for advertising your used machinery effectively.

It’s all about trust and transparency!

1. Prepare your machinery properly
Before any photos are taken, make sure the machine has had a good wash and is clean and tidy.

2.
 Pictures, pictures, pictures!!!
Take decent pictures!
This one’s a big one for me. You are trying to appeal to customers on a global platform, so the more pictures the better! I would recommend an absolute minimum of 5. Make sure you have good lighting, take pictures from all angles; including tyre tread and any features worth noting.

Also, try and take your pictures with a uniform background, infant of your company signage? With no clutter.

3.
Give an in depth, honest description of the machine
Ensure the customer has everything they need, condition, age, any additional accessories, recent repairs etc. People want to find information easily so, make it easy for them, otherwise they will simply scroll on by.

4.
 Choose your platforms;
Whether it’s Social media, a classifieds advert in the press, online marketplaces such as eBay, auto trader or an auction.

Make sure you pick a platform that offers you good exposure. Ask print outlets for their potential reach and weigh up whether you feel it will be of benefit.

5. Promote the listing by sharing it on your social media
And I'm not just talking about your feed. Find local sales groups and post it on there.

6. Respond to enquiries promptly!!
There is a plethora of other dealerships that the customer can turn to, so make sure you keep a good line of communication with them always!
